On January 15, 2025, the Ma-Nyango Association organized an Anti-Trafficking Awareness Walk, a powerful event aimed at raising awareness about human trafficking and mobilizing the community to take action against this global issue. The event saw hundreds of participants walking through the streets of Mamfe, holding banners and signs demanding justice for victims of trafficking.
The campaign aimed to educate people about the dangers of trafficking, how to identify victims, and the steps to report suspicious activities. Speakers at the event included survivors, legal experts, and social workers who shared their experiences and insights into combatting trafficking.
Ma-Nyango also launched a victim support program, offering counseling, legal aid, and rehabilitation services for those affected by human trafficking. The event emphasized the need for stronger policies and enforcement mechanisms to protect vulnerable populations, especially women and children.
A key speaker, social worker Clara M., said, “Human trafficking is a hidden crime that destroys lives. Through awareness and action, we can protect our communities and prevent exploitation.”
This event was part of Ma-Nyango’s broader mission to promote human rights and social justice. The organization will continue its work in advocacy, victim support, and legal reforms to combat trafficking in Cameroon.
